About
A conservator and preparator with broad experience in natural history, palaeontology and archaeology — working across Europe with museums, universities and private collections.
My work involves care for collections, mainly in natural history, palaeontology and archaeology. My clients are museums and universities as well as private clients. I have advised and participated in large scale collection moves, revisions and exhibition projects. Expertise is all-round and includes small projects as well as longer term projects.
I have been privileged to work with some of Europe's finest natural history collections — from the fossil halls at Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden to the historic galleries at the National Museum of Ireland ("Dead Zoo") in Dublin, and from the palaeontological collections at Museu da Lourinhã to the Sociedade de História Natural in Torres Vedras.
Worked on three of the most significant fossil projects at Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden. Involved in preparation, conservation, and 3D documentation of these iconic specimens for research and exhibition.
Collection management, conservation and documentation at the Bath Royal Literary & Scientific Institution. Worked on their historic natural history collections spanning geology, zoology and botany.
Collection management and conservation of the vertebrate collections at the Natural History Division of the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin.
Advisory and capacity-building work for the national natural history collections of Angola, supporting the development of collection care standards and practices.
University of Bristol — My academic background in palaeontology and geological sciences provides the scientific foundation for my conservation and preparation work.
I believe in a holistic approach to collection care — balancing preventive conservation with targeted intervention, and combining traditional craftsmanship with modern digital tools. Every project, whether a small private commission or a large institutional collection move, deserves the same attention to detail, respect for the material, and understanding of the scientific and cultural value of the objects in our care.
Outside of professional work, I stay engaged through volunteering, maintain an active practice in yoga and Pilates, follow baseball, participate in Temazcal ceremonies, read Shakespeare and poetry, and maintain a small collection of vintage biscuit tins.
